Sony Alpha 100 DSLR

For years, Sony has been one of the leading companies when it comes to photography. They offer different cameras and so they were regarded as a pioneer in digital photography. However, there has been a time in the history of Sony that they do not have digital SLR cameras in their range of cameras for sale. Good thing for Sony, Konica Minolta had some difficulties and they were able to help this reputable company in digital SLR camera making. In return, Sony had an easy access to Konica Minolta’s work in digital SLR cameras and it can be reflected on Sony’s Alpha 100 since this camera very much resembles Konica Minolta’s DiMAGE 5D.
In terms of its physical design, the Sony Alpha 100 looks almost identical to the DiMAGE 5D. All the important buttons are found in the body of the camera and you will surely enjoy using these buttons since it is easy to utilize. Even if this camera is very much similar to DiMAGE 5D, the shape is a bit rounded. This gives the Sony Alpha 100 a more futuristic and attractive design.
When it comes to the features installed, Sony adapted a feature from Konica Minolta and named it as Super Steady Shot. This feature may not be regarded as something perfect but Sony made sure that they somehow enhanced it and tried their best to get rid of blurry images due to movement. You can easily take crisp photos even without a tripod because of this feature.
Focusing your shots is very simple while using this camera. At the back of this camera, you will find a 2.5-inch LCD screen wherein you can easily focus your shots. The image is almost perfect and you can hardly notice any defect in the photo. Aside from being used for focusing, the LCD at the back of the camera is also a perfect tool to display the photo and its details. The information will also move accordingly as you turn the camera into a different direction, thus allowing you to read the information easily.
This camera eats up energy because of some of its features like the Super Steady Shot. Good thing, Sony packed it with a 7,2V 1150mAh Lithium Ion battery. Sony claims that you can take photos non-stop up to around 750 images before draining the battery. However, several tests show that it should be at around 500 images only. Even with the more than 200 images discrepancy in terms of claims, it just shows that this camera could last for a long time before it runs out of battery. You can leave the charger at home and enjoy taking pictures for a whole day event.
However, if you are into sports photography, this camera’s auto focus may not satisfy you. The lens of the Sony Alpha 100 is not the fastest lens in the world and could be rated average in terms of auto focus. Aside from this, Sony Alpha 100 is a nice camera to own.
