Nikon D80

Nikon D80 Review: Most of us are suckers for taking pictures or photographs. It’s like we can preserve a certain panorama or a thing if we’d be able to take atleast a photo of it. It’s really nice that we have this kind of technology these days as we can have a memory of an important occasion we want to remember after a long period of time. We have variety of brands to choose from as they have new models available in the market always that makes people think harder in buying.

One of the finest camera manufacturer and brand we’ve known so far was Nikon and it produces lenses and other consumer optical products too. The latest digital camera Nikon had released was the Nikon D80, which they announced August 2006. It was the latest incarnation of Nikon D70 and was compared to the previous Nikon models as it was a mixture of design elements of the new to market Nikon D50 and high-end Nikon D200 cameras. The release and the quality of the newest Nikon model made it and Canon EOS 400D.a competitor of Sony

Nikon D80 might look like a clear view of D70 but as time passes by the two has lots of differences to share. One will definitely enjoy the key features of Nikon D80 as it has a 10.2 megapixels CCD (DX format) image sensor delivering a maximum resolution of 3, 872 x 2, 592 pixels or 10.2 effective megapixels that can capture even the tiniest detail of a certain view. You could feel the Nikon D80 as it weighs just right even with or without the camera lens. No more eyestrain as it has large, bright viewfinder with 0.94 x magnification factors and a 2.5 inch TFT color LCD monitor which comes with a removable protective cover that brings relief to the eyes everytime you take a shot or just view some of the photos.

Though is has 18–135mm DX kit lens it can still accommodate interchangeable lens of Nikon F-mount Nikkor lenses. You can use manual and automatic focus modes with adjustable 11-point AF area selection with its seven preset modes, which include auto, portrait, macro, landscape, sports, night portrait, and night landscape and is selectable using top-mounted dials. The controls on D80 will be familiar to most Nikon users though there are functions that have been moved around. The shutter speed ranges from 1/4, 000 to 30 seconds with a bulb that sets longer exposure because of its 1/200 seconds X-sync speed that made continuous shooting more possible. Editing is possible for D80 like tinting or cropping and supports JPEG and RAW (NEF) file formats.

Nikon D80 uses both SD with its 2GB capacity and SDHC (High Capacity) memory cards which is enough for a year of picture taking because of its 32GB capacity. D80’s power can be from a lithium-ion battery pack, optional AC adapter or Nikon Multi-Function battery pack. It also has an optional remote control accessory. With these digital camera features, Nikon D80 is a perfect camera for the amateur and intermediate photographers out there.
