Creative Zen Vision:M
Some people might consider this gadget the best over all other Mp3 Players. Personally, I wouldn’t call it perfect although it would be fair to say that it does have some impressive features as well. Of course, its main competition the Apple I-pod also holds its own arsenal and features, and the two are quite comparable. In this review, I will compare the two devices. As for those who are reading this review, you be the judge of which one has the edge over the other.
The Creative Zen Vision :M is very much similar to the 5G I-pod. Not only are both devices similar in appearance, layout, and dimensions, but hold almost the same variety of features as well. The Zen unit, however, is described to be much thicker and slightly heavier than its I-pod counterpart. In addition, the said device is also reported to be less fragile as well. As for the display screen, both units have 320x240 pixel LCDs, however, the Zen unit boasts of more color definition compared to the I-pod. The Vision :M displays 262,000 compared to the I-pod’s 65000.
On top of the Zen’s display advantage, it also includes an FM tuner, a voice recorder, and sync tools for Outlook data. In addition, with the Zen unit, you can also purchase songs from various online stores, not just I-tunes, as the I-pod unit is limited to. The I-pod unit, however, has the advantage of being able to download quality TV show videos from I-tunes Music store. The Zen unit may likewise play videos, however, it currently is unable to accept direct download of videos from the available online stores. This model, however, works well with TiVo to go, a new technology which may be used for downloading videos and other interesting possibilities.
The appearance of the Zen model, however, only seems to look sophisticated in black. It also comes in other colors such as white, pink, green, and blue; however, these colors give it a toy-like appearance. When it comes to elegance, the Vision :M unit is attractive in its own way, however, it is no where close to an I-pod. Both devices have been noted to be non resistant to scratching, thus it is recommended to pick a casing with a lighter color so the scratches aren’t as visible. Its controls layout is likewise not as elegant as that of the I-pod’s click wheel. The Vision :M unit makes use of a vertical touchpad and 4 buttons laid out in a square. These buttons are also flushed level with the unit’s casing so fingerprints are very visible. This difference in layout, however doesn’t leave the Vision :M unit behind when it comes to ease of use and handling. Navigating the functions of the unit is just as easy with the Vision :M as with the I-pod. What’s more the Vision :M unit has two customizable shortcuts which makes this task even easier.

It has plenty of features to offer. It may not be perfect, but then it all depends on perspective. Who knows? To some people, it just might very well be.
