Plastic money as they are often termed as, they really work as plastic money the "credit cards". Credit card is termed as plastic money because it refers to a system in which cards are issued to people through banks in order to pay their bills without interaction of money and in turn the money can be revolved from the persons account by the use of the credit cards. These are different from debit cards where the money is not removed after every transaction involved from the customers account. These are also different from the change cards where the users have to pay the month's total amount at the end of the month with suitable interest on their balance amount; here they need to pay the amount through their account after paying the required interest.

Credit cards are usually available in many sizes but the most common of them is the ID-1, which are 85.60 x 53.95 mm. Going back to the history we find that the earlier credit cards were used as a successor of the merchants cards that were used in America, so the earliest credit card was used in America way back in 1920s. it was earlier used to make the fuel company's work easier due to the growing number of the automobiles. In around 1938 the credit cards were used by almost all companies and they even started using the other company's credit cards so as to get a friendly business environment.

Many countries such as the Germans, French and the Swiss used these cards much later than the U.S they in turn made an EC-card as their plastic money but at the start of around 1990s they also started accepting these cards too.

The card user basically uses the card through the process issued by the banks the merchants allows the purchase till a minimum card limit or the credit limit, then the card owner pays the amount through the card or indirectly through the bank, then the user agrees to pay the amount to the bank by providing its signature and the card number on an electronic slip provided by the banks. The bank charges the interest amount on the purchase after the given grace period before that no interest is charged.

As far as the profits are concerned they are lots as compared to some arguments given by people and that are about the security concern as the credit cards fraud are increasing day by day at a lightening speed lots of credit card fraud are done these days so the banks are now keeping an extra check on the cards security.

The banks are also charges fees for the transaction and for any delay in payment. The fee is also charged when the credit limit is not maintained by the customers. these are apart from the membership fees the bank charges wit every credit card.
